    COOKING SHOW - WALKER WARE
    Cake Pans - Extremely Obscure Rarity.
    Walker Ware was, if research is accurate, an Illinois Aluminium Company specializing in kitchen utensils . . . that appears to have originated in 1948/1949.  Ya don't find pix like this anymore.
    The original black and white matte-finish photograph offered here, is of a CAKE BAKING CONTEST for Batchelors and Married Men.
    The event is either a public promotional venture (say, at a kitchen convention) or a teleVision show - presumably in the Chicago area. There was one around 1950 hosted by Alma Lach for WTTW. The photograph in the offing does not indicate any television station. The only possible hint is the name below the cake contestants “Cooking School” but whether it was WTTW, WGN . . . or neither . . . is a matter for historians. I'm just guessing.
    Size is approximately 16 x 20 inches. Not 100% Mint but not far from it given normal aging. It is a wee rough around the edges . . . but just ‘wee’ . . . with the very bottom left corner a tad rougher. It is also clean and unabused. I’ve kept it tucked away carefully.
