Mercury Capri ASC McLaren Convertible 1 or only 186 convertibles built in 1985.
Vehicle starts, drives and stops. Let me answer some of your questions before you ask them.
Will it drive to California from Florida - I don't know, But don't think I would try it.
Will it get to the bottom of the street? Probably
Does the A/C work? Don't know it's a convertible.
Is the top powered? NO
Is it easy to put the top up? If there are 2 of you YES, if your on your own NO especially if you are my age..
Would you buy another one of these cars. Probably, if I wanted a divorce.
Does it have rust? Florida car always, no rust.
Numbers matching? Maybe?
Has it had paint? Yes they don't let it out of the factory until it's painted.
Original paint? NO painted original color last Year.
Interior original? NO seats redone last year.
Can I get all the kids in the car? NO it's a two seater.
How many owners? 3
Buy this and you'll look as " slick as a rat with a gold tooth"
They only made these convertibles for 3 years and only 186 in 1985 so a pretty rare beast.

Just a little information that might interest you, the Mercury ASC McLaren's all started life on the Ford Production line as Fox Body Mustangs, they were then shipped over to Mercury/ASC McLaren for reman as Mercury Capri but from what I can ascertain the mechanical were not changed, most of the work being structure and body, so basically a rebodied/rebadged Fox Body Mustang. No problem for spares.
