STK 2927 1974 Datsun 260Z
The Datsun 'Z' series was produced by Nissan Motors from 1969 through 1978. The 'Z' was created to go head-to-head with established European sports cars and forever changed world's perception of the Japanese automobile. The 'Z' was far from an 'econbox'. Our 1974 260Z spent its early days in California and has since received a full restoration with careful mechanical upgrades. (Only year of 260Z model) Included in the sale is a large binder that documents the restoration effort and maintenance procedures over the years. We have only room to list a fraction of that undertaking here. The exterior was professionally refinished in 2-stage Candy Apple Green in 2003 and is in excellent condition. Accents include all new chrome, 'Z' badging, body side moldings, bumper overrides and 14" Performance Specialties alloy wheels that mount Hankook Optimo H724 radials. The factory interior was also refreshed with new vinyl, carpeting, rubber seals and all essential details. Dash/dashpad, door cards, headliner – everything is top shelf. Convenience features include factory air-conditioning, AM/FM/cassette stereo, tinted power windows and a full factory gauge package. The detailed engine compartment houses a 2.6L SOHC six-cylinder that was totally rebuilt in 1984 and again refreshed in 2016. It incorporates a cast iron block, aluminum head, new high-compression L18 pistons, dual Hitachi 44mm SU-style carbs (rebuilt), electric fuel pump and performance exhaust system. Power is delivered through a 4-speed all-syncro manual gearbox w/new clutch to a stock rear differential. The factory driveshaft has been balanced with new u-joints and disc brakes have been fully serviced including a new dual master. The suspension is a MacPherson/Chapman strut design with front/rear sway bars that has been upgraded with new KYB coil springs and gas shocks from Suspension Technologies. This Datsun 260Z coupe has been meticulously restored and will be a handsome addition to your 'Z' garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
